Well, the story of mother’s day is extensive. The story of mother’s day is a story of strong determination of a daughter ‘Anna Jarvis’. She committed to give tribute to her mom Mrs Anna M Jarvis. She devoted her life to make her mom happy and to fulfill her all dreams. Anna Jarvis was not a mother herself but she is known as the ‘Mother of Mother’s day’.

Anna Jarvis was inspired for celebrating mother’s day quite early in her life. Her mother said a prayer in front of her to conclude the lesson ‘Mothers of the bible’ and she never forgot that prayer. After the death of her mother in 1905 she committed to honour her mother. In 1907 Anna began an aggressive movement to inaugurate a national mother’s day in US. On the 2nd death anniversary of her mother she ran a small praise to her mother at Andrews Methodist church. On the next year mother’s day was also celebrated in Philadelphia, her own city.

Furthermore, to give outline to her firmness she began to write hundreds of letters along with her followers to the people holding positions of power advocate the requirement for a national mother’s day.

In 1911, mother’s day was celebrated in every state of the union. Moreover, in 1914 the president Woodrow Wilson made the official declaration of mother’s day as national holiday to be celebrated on the every second Saturday of May.
